Brand you should know: Becca Cosmetics

Recently Becca cosmetics in conjunction with Danielle of the Style and Beauty Doctor, held
a beauty event at the well known "New Pharmacy" beauty store in New York City. Bloggers and beauty lovers alike gathered to try out the newest Becca complexion line, a matte finish foundation, while sipping cocktails and munching on treats.

On hand makeup artist applied the matte foundation to guest while explaining it's properties and function. The new foundation promises to provide medium coverage while feeling super light weight and controlling excess oil.

In addition to learning about the new foundations, guest tried out their iconic "beach tint" (a lip and cheek cream pigment) and other items from their new summer product line.

Why you should know them?

Becca cosmetics prides themselves in having a foundation for everyone. They pay special attention to offering a range of complexion products that is equally distributed across the color spectrum and launch each foundation with a minimum of 18 different shades.

Since many woman, especially woman of color, have a difficult time finding a foundation that matches their skin tone, it is exciting to find companies that recognize and attempt to address this problem.

  1. I'm not a big fan of foundation because its usually too heavy or not the right color for my complexion. So do you think this will work for someone with a dark complexion?

    I tried the foundation during the event and it did not feel heavy on my face, although I still had product underneath it. As far as the color goes, they do have a better range than some other lines so it would be worth the time to look into it some more. I recommend checking out their foundation finder tool on their website http://www.beccacosmetics.com/us/foundation-finder/by-skin-tone/
    and seeing if any of the shades pictured look like they would be a good match for you. Also if your local Sephora carries their products you can go and try it out in stores. Hope that helps!
