Three Ways to Wear a Crop Top

Crop tops have been popular since the 90’s but have recently merged into different patterns, fits, and lengths. I always wear them on nights out, but I’ve styled my new favourite one from Primark in three different every-day looks to get ready for this summer.

To keep it cool and casual, pair your crop with some high waisted jeans to tuck away your tummy and focus on your top half. Add a chunky necklace for a focal point and you’re ready to go!

If you’re out for drinks then pull on a skater skirt with some boots and a statement necklace for a fun girly outfit. To add a pop of colour, grab a bright clutch or some neon nail varnish.

For a more sophisticated look, wear some loose fitting shorts and a plain blazer to take the attention away from your belly-button. Slip on some chunky heels or pointed stilettos and tussle your hair around your shoulders to complete the look.

Xoxo,

Sophie

With summer almost upon us (hopefully) it’s time to make a statement with your nails, whether that’s matching them to your neon crop or pastel skater skirt, the high street has every colour you need.

20130520-100035.jpg

How to style a midi dress

Midi dresses are one of those marmite pieces you either love or hate. They make for perfect transitional pieces, but like this one I’ve styled below, tend to be quite figure hugging. With a rainbow of patterns available on the high street, you can choose to make a statement, or pick a simple style for every day wear. I choose a patterned one to style in three different ways.

This first look is for those evenings you spend in with your girlfriends, keeping it stylish but comfortable at the same time. Pull on a slouchy knit or loose cardigan to dress it down, and add some tights if your pins (legs) aren’t quite ready to be on show yet!

Want an every day stylish look? If it’s time for your summer shopping spree then team your midi dress with some tights and plain flats so as not to draw attention away from your dress, but still rocking the trend. Slip on a leather or bomber jacket for those chillier days, and your ready to burn a hole in your pocket!

Wardrobe Inspiration: 3 Ways to Work Pastels

1. Ombré Sweaters. Ombré sweaters in various gradients of pastel colors are a perfect way to tip your toe into this trend (so to speak). Look for light spring sweaters made out of airy material and pair them with cuffed bottom jeans now, and later on with shorts as the weather gets progressively warmer.
Editor's tip: We especially love the look of this trend with acid wash denim.

2. Bright bottoms. Bright bottoms are still an ongoing trend. Tired of colored jeans? Opt for peg legged trousers instead. Offset your attention grabbing pants by pairing them them a flirty white blouse. Make this look office appropriate by wearing it with a blazer and pumps or dress if up for a night out with sexy ankle strap heels.
Editor's tip: Add a bold blazer on top if you wish to color block with your look

3. Statement Jewelry: Jewelry in soft pastel colors are also a great way to try out this trend. Add a necklace like one of the ones shown below to a rather plain blouse or tank to instantly dress up a casual outfit. Finish off the look with boyfriend jeans and heels to achieve the "effortless chic" look.
Editor's tip: Swap out the heels for cute flats or sandals to get the same look minus the hurting feet.

What's Trending Now: Denim Overalls

20130510-092656.jpg
So we've mentioned here and there over the past few weeks that 90's fashion is once again trending (and I personally couldn't be happier). In addition to cropped turtlenecks, you may or may not have noticed that overalls have somehow crept back from obscurity into mainstream trending. All our favorite celeb style crushes from Rihanna to Rachel Bilson have been spotted rocking this trend.

Francy Answers: what to wear under your graduation gown

Hello Francy,

I am in desperate need of your help.My mom bought me this beautiful blue high-low chiffon dress for graduation but I want to accessorize it. The thing is... I actually suck at accessorizing. I have no idea about what to do with shoes, jewerly, or a belt. I bought a gold belt from little 5..but I have no idea if it works or not. Would you be able to help me?? I would be eternally grateful!!

Faith

Hi Faith -

First off, congratulations on graduating!!! I know graduation is coming up soon so I wanted to give you a written response as quick as possible.

what to wear to graduation

ShopStyle

So first things first, I love the fact that you choose a wrap dress to wear, lately I've been loving them myself as they are extremely figure flattering and "sexy classy" as I like to call it lol ;) I think it is a good idea to change out the belt that comes with it and put your own to dress it up a bit but I would suggest going with a coral color instead of a gold (the belt I wore in here is exactly the same kind I think would look great with your dress). Coral pink and cobalt blue look excellent together and would be lovely for the occasion.

Try finding a skinny waist belt, preferably one that was a hidden belt buckle or a bow instead of a typical belt buckle (like the one I wore here).

Below are more Coral Belt Options:

If you're not a fan of coral, a yellow or kelly green belt in the same style I described would also work well with the blue of your dress.

3 Shoe Trends to Wear this Spring

After a long and cold winter, it’s finally time to celebrate the warm season with heels, wedges, flats, and more!

The quickest way to put a smile on someone’s face is simply a new pair of shoes. With many desirable style to choose from, it looks like everyone will be smiling all the way into fall. To showcase this season's standout shoe favs, they’ve been paired with a celebrity or model who rocked the trend.

Wedges are a appropriate for the coming season. The floral and ankle strap on this pair are perfect and would go great with a flirty dress.

Sandals are part of the classic spring shoe staple. It seems as if the more straps the sandal has, the better it is this season. Experiment with colours and accents. Or you could go for the clean, classic gladiator sandals. Just don’t forget a cute pedicure!

The sneaker wedges is a fun sporty look, perfect for pairing with stylish sweatpants or leggings, for a casual chic look. All popular shoe brands have come out with their own version of the sneaker wedge, including Nike, Puma, and Reebok, along with designers like Marc Jacobs and ASH.

Looking at my current shoe collection, I definitely need to buy a few new pairs of shoes for the upcoming season. Comment below and let us know which trend you can't wait to wear?

Three Ways to Wear a Skater Skirt

The skater skirt has taken the UK high street by storm, and despite its first appearance a couple of years ago now, it’s still as popular as ever. Wear with cropped tees, jumpers, blouse’s, t-shirts, bralets, you name it! I’ve styled the same skirt three different ways to encourage you to get the most out of this staple piece.

Smart Casual

To smarten this grey marl skater skirt up, tuck in a blouse and layer over a jumper, providing a pop of colour as well as warmth. A little collar poking out is one of my favourite looks at the moment, and paired with Converse or boots, this makes for a perfect every day outfit.

Dinner

Draw attention to your favourite blouse by pairing it with a plain coloured skirt and clutch for a dinner or summer party. The femininity of the skirt flatters your shape and doesn’t draw the eye from your shirt on top. Slip on some pretty pumps and you’re ready to go!

20130502-122737.jpg

Team your skirt with a neon crop; another of this seasons trends, for a night out with the girls. Add a statement necklace and some heels and you’re all set to party the night away!

Comment below and let us know how you style your skater style skirt!?
