Spring Makeup Trend to Try: Orange Lipstick

Spring Makeup Trend To Try : Orange Lipstick

Orange lips have been a major trend since last summer and this Spring it's back!  This year's trend is an orange with more of a red undertone. Try pairing this look with the "aqua eye trend" for a bold and colorful off work look. You can also make this trend day time appropriate by pairing it with a neutral eye and natural blush.

Feeling this trend? Check out a few of my picks below at price points for every budget!

Kimono Trend

Kimono cardigans have been a thing for some time now, but just started hitting most mainstream stores in the past year. These low key pieces scream "cool girl chill" and festival season. I personally like them because they make for an awesome yet optional "third piece" to any outfit this spring or summer.

3 Trends in Bridal for 2014

Wedding bouquet

With Christmas and Valentine’s Day now behind us, chances are your Facebook timeline has already started getting flooded with engagement announcements as the unofficial start to wedding season begins. This year I'm going to be part of a wedding party and have been looking to social media sites like Pinterest, TV shows like Four Weddings, and blogs to stay up on the latest trends in weddings. Below are three trends in weddings for 2014 that are sure to be coming down the aisle!

1. Heavenly Hues: For 2014 weddings, expect to see lot of romantic palettes that mix soft hues with pops of rich, vibrant colors. Pinks continue to reign supreme in tints that range from blush and pale pink to rich rose gold jewelry. For a whimsical undertone, many brides are turning to lilac and Pantone’s color of the year, wild orchid. When contrasted with other popular pigments like navy blue, gray, green, gold and tangerine, the created combinations bring both the sweetness and drama.

2. Saying Yes to A Dress: The wedding gowns of 2014 exude romance with soft lace, rich fabrics and

20140102-124226.jpg

It's officially 2014! And for my first post of the new year, I thought it was only right to start with a trend report. Every year trends come and go, and while some of them we are happy to see be put to rest, others we wouldn't mind sticking around. So before you get your New Year's closet cleanse on, let's talk about the trends that will keep their rein in 2014.

What's Trending Now: Jumpsuits

20131210-130808.jpg

If you're like me, jumpsuits probably only made a rare appearance in your closet throughout the years. Aside from rompers a few years back and overalls now, I for one never got into jumpsuits. To me they always had a 70's disco vibe which was never a look I was trying to rock. However lately I can't help but notice how jumpsuits have come back in a big way and seem to be more stylish than ever. Celebs and street stylers alike have been spotted rocking this trend. Below are a few of the ones I'm currently eying.

Comment below and let me know if you plan on rocking this trend?!

What's Trending Now: Velvet Touch

ways to wear the velvet trend

Velvet is a trend I've been into for a couple of years now. For the past few winter seasons velvet has been making a comeback and this winter is no exception. This year in particular, velvet clothing and accessories can be found in all the top fast fashion stores such as Topshop and even more traditional stores like Ann Taylor.

Velvet is a great trend to try because mixing and matching textures is an easy way to make an outfit more interesting.

In addition, velvet is great for Fall and Winter because it is a warmer fabric that has a classic feel.

Below are a few of my favorite velvet pieces that can be incorporated into any outfit to add a touch of velvet!

What's Trending Now: Circle skirts

20131009-113228.jpg

Definition: a full skirt that comes down smoothly from the waist without darts or pleats. A skater style skirt that is longer in length (past the knees) and typically made from sturdier fabric.

Circle skirts are in for Fall as evident from their influx in appearance at recent fashion weeks and editorials. Similar to the still ever popular skater skirt, these full skirts fall from the waist, skimming past the hips and bum, making them great for those who are figure conscious or want to hide below the waist "problem areas".

20131009-115620.jpg

Pull the circle skirt trend off this season by pairing yours with a fitted shirt and stylish heels. The fitted shirt keeps the outfit in portion and the heels will give back a few of the extra inches to your legs that the longer hemline takes away.

5 Jewelry Trends For Summer 2013

20130719-134044.jpg

Summer 2013 is in full swing, and that might mean you've got your warm weather wardrobe all figured out. After all, you've probably been bombarded with news about the latest trends for the last several months - you know that neon colors are in, striped tops are all the rage, and oversized sunglasses are, once again, as trendy as can be. But if you're looking for a couple of fun finishing touches for your summer wardrobe, you can still get the job done with a simple piece of jewelry here or there. So here are 5 summer jewelry tips to help round out your outfits!

1. Neon Highlights
Just as neon is trendy in tops and other summer garments, casual jewelry with neon highlights can really pull your look together. Whether it's a few artificial beads colored brightly and vibrantly, or a neon band around part of a bracelet or earring, the lightest touch of bright color can make a bold fashion statement.

2. Pendants
A pendant can mean just about anything, but the general trend of dangling a decorative object at the end of a necklace seems to be red hot this summer. Whether that means something rustic like an old key hanging from a threat, or something fancier like a necklace featuring a white gold chain and diamond pendant is up to you. But either piece can be perfect for the right environment. Use this trend to express yourself through a pendant with some personal meaning!

3. Geometric Pieces
This is another trend that's essentially wide open to interpretation, but you know the general idea: plated necklaces of interlocking geometric shapes, necklaces with dangling metallic shapes, etc. Stark, clear geometric patterns are everywhere you look in jewelry trends this summer though, so be sure to stock up on a piece or two in this category.

4. Gems, Raw Stones & Beads
The bottom line is, colored stones are hot this summer. Your interpretation of that is totally up to you! Whether you opt for colored gemstones for a fancier look, raw stones for an elegant beach appearance, or cheap beads for a casual look around town, you can always have fun with color.

5. Animal Themes
Finally, for the quirkiest in summer jewelry trends, animal themes are very popular. This can mean a lot of different things, from a gemstone bird hanging from an earring, to a bracelet designed as a snake consuming itself. This is more of a niche trend, so it's best to just get out and see what you find, rather than plan a shopping trip in advance.

What's Trending Now: CC Creams

Beautysets - The Hit List: CC Creams

Last summer beauty fans and gurus alike couldn't stop raving about BB creams. The all in one "beauty balms" seemed to be the perfect all in one beauty solution. Now, less than a year later there is already a new cool kid in town, the CC cream. CC cream also known as color control cream or color correcting cream are similar to BB creams but with a few marked differences.

Like BB creams, CC creams were also developed in Asia to prime, hydrate, and protect the skin. CC creams differ from BB creams because they are generally lighter in texture and their primary focus is addressing discoloration. CC creams can be worn alone for light coverage or used under foundation as a primer to provide heavier coverage.

CC creams can be found in stores such as Sephora, Beauty.com, and most major beauty stores. Below are a few that I picked out.

Having trouble finding your perfect shade? Clinque, Smashbox, Sephora Collection, and AmorePacific have CC creams in a wider range of colors that will also fit  woman of color.

What's Trending Now: Denim Overalls

20130510-092656.jpg
So we've mentioned here and there over the past few weeks that 90's fashion is once again trending (and I personally couldn't be happier). In addition to cropped turtlenecks, you may or may not have noticed that overalls have somehow crept back from obscurity into mainstream trending. All our favorite celeb style crushes from Rihanna to Rachel Bilson have been spotted rocking this trend.

Sandals are part of the classic spring shoe staple. It seems as if the more straps the sandal has, the better it is this season. Experiment with colours and accents. Or you could go for the clean, classic gladiator sandals. Just don’t forget a cute pedicure!

What's Trending Now: Tigers

What's Trending Now: Tigers

Cats may be all over the Internet but tiger faces are popping up all over the fronts of trendy shirts and sweatshirts. Although not the king of the jungle (that would be the lion in case any of you missed the movie lion king) tigers appear to be ruling apparel at least for right now to the extent that Kenzo's Tiger Sweater sold out in TWO days.

Trend Report: Fur

Trend Report: FurIt's official the fashion gods err umm attendees of New York Fashion Week have spoken, fur is in (and PETA is pissed). Fur was all over Lincoln Center last week during fashion week, both on the stage at shows such as Zang Toi as well as off the stage by just about everyone. It's safe to say, fur was officially having the best week ever. It's not like fur ever really went out of fashion but blame it on the snow storm that recently hit or just something in the air but fur is currently "trending"... hard. Everyone from celebrities such as Kate Moss to pseudo celebrities such as reality show stars and bloggers, all the way down to good old fashion normal people have been "spotted" (some pun intended) wearing fur coats, vests, and hats. Want to get in on the look without any animal lover gilt? Try a few high quality faux fur pieces that look just like the real thing or better!
*Editors Note: NO animals were harmed in the making of this article.

What's Trending Now: Camouflage

What's Trending Now: Camo

Celebrities wearing Camo

Camouflage is one of those trends that come in and out of style pretty regularly, so it's probably no surprise that its back once again. Personally I'm usually not a fan of camouflage but a few things have recently made me a fan. For one, I'm in love with the show BuckWild on MTV. As a girl born and raised in the south, currently living in NYC, sometimes I get home sick for a little southern charm. Are you a friend of this trend? Keep reading to see how you can get and style this look.
