In terms of hair trends, hair chalk is to 2013 as ombré was to 2012, and feathers were to 2011.
Although hair chalking is by no means a new phenomenon, it seems to have been give a new life with the surge in celebrities rocking luminous locs (Katy Perry, Rihanna's Clown Red, and Lauren Conrad's recent forte into color just to name a few). The great thing about this trend is that it is much less permanent then others, hair chalk can be washed right out while bleaching ones' hair for ombre was permanent, and feathers were a complete bitch to take out.
